Unforgettable B96 Pepsi Jingle Bash Moments: Psy’s First Chicago Performance, Shirtless Bieber & More

Every year Chicago’s B96 hosts a Jingle Bash holiday concert that features the biggest pop stars in the world, and this year was no different! Justin Bieber, Pitbull, Psy, Carly Rae Jepsen, Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Austin Mahone, Ryan Beatty, and Cody Simpson gave the sold-out crowd an unforgettable show.

Some notable milestones include Justin Bieber’s last concert of the year as well as PSY’s first ever Chicago visit and performance. The 5 hour concert opened with an explosive set from Scottish DJ/producer Calvin Harris full of colorful confetti and glowing inflatables featuring his Grammy nominated track “Let’s Go” featuring Ne-yo, and other chart-toppers like “Feel So Close,” “We Found Love,” “Sweet Nothing.”

Austin Mahone’s adorable presence and loyal fans presence lightened the mood for all the young ladies in the crowd. His performance of his latest single featuring “Flo Rida, “Say You’re Just A Friend,” lit up the girls’ faces with glowing smiles.

Hot off her two Grammy nominations, Carly Rae Jepsen rocked the stage in a hot sequin dress and sang the most parodied song of the year, “Call Me Maybe,” “Good Time,” and her latest single “This Kiss.”

Even though the crowd went wild for all the acts, the most touching part of the evening was the moment of silence for all the families and victims of the Sandy Hook tragedy. The contrast from the deafening screams to absolute quiet paired with every hand holding up a cell phone was absolutely breathtaking.

PSY jumped on the stage in his all white tuxedo and told the crowd that it was his first visit to Chicago and first Chicago performance, so he wanted to be sure to give the audience a great show with his performance of the worldwide phenomenon “Gangnam Style.” Everyone was sucked in from the second he broke out with his first hip swivel dance moves.

Mr. Worldwide proved why he’s an international sensation when he illuminated the masses with his infectious stage presence and his ability to spit out lyrics flawlessly. Pitbull’s energy was off the charts, and he proved that when he sang his latest single “Don’t Stop The Party.”

Once Justin Bieber walked on the stage, the screams were deafening. Halfway through his set he sat down with his acoustic guitar and played “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright,” then sang “Under The Mistletoe.” Only Bieber has special lights than say his name to his command! Once he took off his shirt and showed off his toned body, every female lost control! He closed the show and his last live performance of 2012 with positive energy and made it a night that no one can forget.
