This is not a test: New Solange music will drop this week.

By Hayden Wright

It’s hard to believe eight years have passed since Solange released Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams, her critical breakthrough that spawned hits like “Sandcastle Disco.” Fans have waited for her followup studio album ever since, and one 2012 EP, True, was not enough to fill the quirky, idiosyncratic void left by Beyoncé’s little sister. Now, almost out of nowhere, Solange has announced that her third studio album, A Seat at the Table, will drop Friday, capping years of personal and artistic growth as the alternative Knowles.

“I am overwhelmed with gratitude and excitement to share this body of work I have written, with you,” wrote Solange in an Instagram post.

The singer also shared a track list, which reveals collaborations with Kelly Rowland, Lil Wayne, the Dream and others. Mama Tina Knowles gets a shout-out in one interlude title, while the ambitious 20-track album contains confessional titles like “Weary” and “Borderline (An Ode to Self Care).” Here’s a full track list — there are only two days left to wait for fresh Solange:
