Machine Gun Kelly and Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cabello are, perhaps, not the most obvious pair for a collaboration, but they have chemistry and that comes out in the single and video for “Bad Things.”
“We connected, and she’s like, really funny and oddly cool,” Machine Gun Kelly told Radio.com.
“Thanks!” Cabello says. “You think I’m funny?”
“You’re absolutely hilarious!” he says.
That’s how conversations with the two of them work. Their friendship is palpable; he’s a solo artist, so he seems to enjoy having a collaborator, while she (like most members of groups) likes to be able to stretch outside her collective and be seen as an individual.
“What’s been really cool about this process is getting to know each other more. I feel like that’s been really fun. We learn a lot from each other.”
“I think it’s exciting, I’m so blessed to have the opportunity to dive into different projects and show the world completely different sides of me. In Fifth Harmony, I’m one side of myself, with ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ [her duet with Shawn Mendes] I was another side of myself and here, I’m another side of myself. I learn more about myself when I dive into other projects. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to do that.”
But will they collaborate again in the the future?
“I would love to,” MGK says.
“I would love to, too,” Cabello agrees.
