CHICAGO (CBS) — The talk of Sunday’s snowfall, brought CBS 2 back to December 2013.
That was the start of the shiver-inducing polar vortex winter. It seemed December started out the same then, as it is now.
So CBS 2’s Dana Kozlov wanted to know what exactly is the Chicago area in for this winter season.
As temperatures begin to plummet outside, meteorologists inside the National Weather Center offices in Romeoville are beginning their predictions about what lies ahead.
“It’s certainly cold for December,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Ricky Castro.
But Ricky Castro stops short of saying snowfall the first week of December, like the flakes that fell in December 2013, means we are in for another polar vortex punch.
