I love hip-hop so I tend to go back and forth. Maybe not anymore.
So I was listening to 103.5 kiss FM Chicago today. They were supporting the Gay Pride Parade and how they had a float in it, and that several, including theirs, had their tires slashed. Then later they were discussing casting calls that were going on in the area that were looking for teenage dropouts. 103.5, however, did not support the TV station for promoting dropouts. And for those who listen to Brotha Fred, we all know how they go on about what they support and/or don’t support, happy and encouraging listeners to support gays, but angry and discouraging them to not support dropouts. So I texted them…

Listener: You were supporting gays earlier. Why can’t others support dropouts?

Brotha Fred: Are you equating being gay with the CHOICE of dropping out of high school? Get the hell outta here

Listener: Exactly. And that is why u should support them too

Brotha Fred: They are not the same, braniac. Being gay is not a choice, being an idiot who drops outta high school is a choice.

Listener: Most drop outs came from a poor up bringing by their parents, not their CHOICE.

Brotha Fred: Dropping out is still a CHOICE no matter the reason

I never said I supported or didn’t support either cause, I simple support peoples freedom of what they choose.
Who’s to say that a high school dropout that gets the part in this TV series won’t end up well off, or for that matter earn money now and go back to school later. How many people support athletes, basketball, football, etc… How many of them actually got educated while playing sports in college. Doesn’t matter, we all have the freedom to choose what we want and support who we want.

And finally, why did he have to sound so nasty in his text. His nasty words hurt me just as his slashed tires hurt him. I know of course he would not agree stating slashing tires is illegal, but bullying can do as much damage.

I´m from Sweden and me and my colleges was in Chicago a couple weeks ago and I love the city but it put us to the test as the BLIZZARD got us stock at the Hotel. Any ways, as we drove around I manage to tune in B96 and wow. I love the music you´re playing, the sad part is that I can´t listen to you back here in Sweden due to some laws, I don´t know. Well, I’ve moved down to Montgomery, AL from Hobart, IN and I ALWAYS used to listen to B96 all day everyday and of coarse I’ve been missing it!!!
