Eminem Donates ‘Mom’s Spaghetti' to Hospital Workers in Detroit

Eminem gives back to his hometown

April 23, 2020

Eminem is giving back to his hometown of Detroit and the hardworking healthcare workers at the Henry Ford Health System by donating his “mom’s spaghetti.”

A rep for the Henry Ford Health System posted a picture of the donation they received from the rapper to Instagram, thanking him for his help. "Our #HealthcareHeroes "lost themselves" in the delicious Mom's Spaghetti donated by Detroit's very own, @eminem. Thank you for providing a special meal for our team members!”

Of course, "Mom's Spaghetti" is a signature dish associated with the rapper. The reference is drawn from the 8 Mile hit "Lose Yourself " where the MC raps, "His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy/There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti/He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready/To drop bombs, but he keeps on forgettin.’” Well… you know the rest.

In 2017, Em opened a Mom's Spaghetti pop-up shop in his hometown, allowing fans to taste the delicious signature dish and purchase themed merch. The Marshall Mathers Foundation along with Union Joints - the restaurant group that Em partnered with for his past festival pop-ups - will be providing meals to Detroit healthcare workers over the next few weeks.

Em is just the latest of a long list of celebrities to use his resources and platform for pandemic relief. Megan Thee Stallion donated money and supplies to the Park Manor Nursing Facility and Rihanna and JAY-Z followed up their initial pledge with an additional combined $6 million.

Eminem has yet to post anything on his social media confirming the donation. However, the spaghetti has a label that reads 'Thank you Frontline Caregivers' with a a Shady logo beneath.
