November 1, 2018

You know that meme that states "January lasted 3-months the rest of the year only lasted a few seconds?"

Yeah, it couldn't be more accurate.

So much happened in 2018, we don't even blame you if you're surprised that "Black Panther" dominated the big screen and the Olympics took place earlier this year.

It's all a blur!

So, we decided to put together a list of the biggest pop culture moments that took 2018 by Stormi (ha).

Re-live the whole year below and tell us what your favorite memory is.

1.  Ariana Declares God is Woman

Ariana Grande reigned supreme with her personal and professional life in 2018. "Sweetener" was a hit, but this year will be the year we theorized that maybe "God is a Woman."

2. Ariana and Pete Davidson Love-to-Break-Up-Story

As I mentioned in #1, Ariana dominated the pop news cycle in 2018. Aside from dropping "Sweetener," she broke up with the late Mac Miller, began dating and got engaged to SNL comedian Pete Davidson and then ended the engagement after just a few weeks.

It’s a sad day on ☁️ 9.... @arianagrande and #PeteDavidson have called off their engagement

3. Thank U, Next

She followed up her broken engagement with a break-up anthem, "Thank U, Next" which was accompanied by the biggest music video ever as she recreated 90s girl power films including Mean Girls, Bring It On, 13 Going on 30 and Legally Blonde!

4. Welcome to the New Sabrina

Riverdale is still a hit for The CW, however, Netflix scored big with their Chilling Adventures of Sabrina reboot. Kiernan Shipka is the Sabrina we never knew we needed. Oh, and Ross Lynch as Harvey is everything!

5. A Royal Wedding

Despite her family's embarrassing and public objections, Prince Harry married Meghan Markle in a beautiful televised ceremony. And though it's not for certain, she may be the first black royal!

6. Black Panther

When Black Panther premiered in February,  it became the highest grossing superhero film ever in North America, with $631 million in domestic sales. Wakanda Forever.

Congratulations to Marvel Studios’ #BlackPanther which has been nominated for 12 #CriticsChoice Awards, including Best Picture!

7. Cardi B and Nicki Minaj Feud

Two of the biggest names in hip-hop clashed at New York Fashion Week. Cardi was seen lunging a shoe at Nicki and then being escorted out of the party with a lump on her head.

8. The Kardashian-West Clan Gets Involved in Politics

Kanye met with Donald Trump on a few occasions in 2018 including one bizarre sit down where he hugged it out with the Prez and talked about flying cars. Kim Kardashian spent some time in the Oval office talking prison reform and granting clemency for Alice Marie Johnson, a 63-year old grandmother, was serving a life sentence on drug charges. After Kim brought it to his attention, Trump commuted the grandmother's sentence. Kourtney also visited DC to lobby about cosmetic safety.

9. Drake Has a Secret Son

Drake was involved in a beef with Pusha T who released a song called 'The Story of Adidon,' asserting that Drake had a secret child with an adult movie star that he was hiding from the public. The feud got pretty ugly and while Drake never addressed the rumors head-on, he did confirm that he was a father to a son named Adonis on his track "Emotionless."

10. Eminen and MGK Feud

Hip-hop artists loved feuding in 2018. One of the biggest feuds happened between Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly. The feud was ignited based on a tweet MGK posted six years ago where he talks about Em's daughter Hailee. "I have to say, she is is hot as f**k, in the most respectful way possible cuz Em is king," he tweeted which didn't sit well with the protective dad. Eminem dropped a surprise album called "Kamikaze," which featured "Not Alike," where he directly called out Kelly. The diss-tracks just kept going back-and-forth until we, and probably Eminem who figured he was above all of this, gave up on it.

11. A Star is Born with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper made magic on-screen together with their film, "A Star is Born." The film leads the nominations for SAG-Awards, could be the first duo in 21-years from the same film to Best Actor and Actress at the Oscars, and could end the 40-year co-star drought for Best Film Drama Actor and Best Film Drama Actress.

Repost from @interscope: The #AStarIsBorn soundtrack and single “Shallow” are certified platinum by @riaa_awards. Congratulations @ladygaga, Bradley Cooper and all involved! @starisbornmovie

12. Tristan Thompson Cheats on Khloe Kardashian

Two days before Khloe Kardashian gave birth to her first child with boyfriend Tristan Thompson, photos of him cheating on her with an unidentified woman in New York City surfaced. Shortly after, more photos were published dating back to October where he allegedly cheated on her with other women in a club. And sadly, this isn't the first time Thompson has been accused of cheating on a pregnant girlfriend. Khloe was undoubtedly upset, but as she revealed in the episode of KUWTK, she kept it positive for baby True who is an absolute doll. The parents are still trying to work it out.

13. Justin Bieber Gets Hitched

None of us saw it coming, especially because he was still seeing Selena Gomez earlier this year, but Justin Bieber wed his on-again-off-again girlfriend Hailey Baldwin, now Hailey Bieber, sometime in October in a secret-ceremony. There also wasn't a prenup.

14. The Weeknd Mourns His Relationship with Selena

Selena Gomez and The Weekend called it quits in October 2017, however, he dropped "My Dear Melancholy" with plenty of songs addressing his relationship for Selena. Some of the lyrics even revealed he was willing to give her a kidney to save her life. Though heartbroken, Abel picked up the pieces and found comfort with on-again-off-again girlfriend Bella Hadid. The two were spotted getting cozy again and he supported her during the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in December. Sources say he's planning on proposing!

14. Demi's Overdose

Not every pop-culture memory is a pleasant one. In July, Demi sent fans into a panic when reports broke that she had overdosed after six years of sobriety. A call to 9-1-1 revealed that the pop star was unconscious and revived with Narcan. She was stabilized at the hospital shortly after and checked into rehab emerging sometime in November. We're so glad Demi is safe and doing better!

16. Mac Miller & Avicii Pass Away

Sadly, you can't avoid deaths. Two deaths that shook the pop-culture world were legendary EDM producer Avicii, who took his own life on April 20th, and Mac Miller who died of an overdose on September 7th.

17. Nick Jonas Gets Married

Nick Jonas got engaged to Quantico actress Priyanka Chopra in late July and by December, the duo were husband and wife. The couple tied-the-knot in a multi-day celebration in Jodhpur, India, which was packed with celebrity guests, multiple outfit changes, a palace venue, and even performances! The Jonas-Chopra wedding is the second most searched after the royal wedding!

18. Offset and Cardi B Announce Divorce

In December, Cardi B announced that she and her husband of over a year, Offset, were divorcing. While she kept it pretty PG in her video saying that they've been trying to work out some problems and ultimately, fell out of love, it was later revealed that Offset cheated on her while she was pregnant with their daughter, Kulture. Shortly after the divorce announcement, Cardi also posted the first picture of baby Kulture, and the world loves her!

19. Netflix Hits Gold With "All The Boys I've Loved Before"

All the Boys I've Loved Before became the most talked about movie in 2018, and that's partially because the world has become obsessed with heartthrob Noah Centineo! Netflix originals have really stepped up their game this year!

20. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Expecting a Baby Amidst the Family Drama

All of Meghan Markle's family drama continued after she tied-the-knot with Prince Harry. However, the royal couple seems to be filtering all the negativity just fine and announced that they are expecting a bundle of joy sometime 2019. As they toured the world together, the rest of us were on baby bump watch!

21. No Longer Him and I

G-Eazy and Halsey were the "it" couple much like Britney and Justin back in 2000. And their relationship kind of followed the same trajectory as things began to crumble after it was reported that G-Eazy cheated on Halsey. She gave him another chance, but that too was short-lived, and ultimately, she dropped her heartbreak song "Without Me" accusing G-Eazy of cheating and riffing Justin Timberlake's classic "Cry Me a River" chorus.

22. Kylie Jenner Becomes a Mom

Kylie Jenner kept her pregnancy a secret, but after Stormi was born, she confirmed all the rumors by posting an apology on Twitter in which she revealed she wanted her pregnancy to be for herself and not the world. Since then, Kylie has been openly posting pictures of her baby girl with Travis Scott. And they are one adorable family!

i love you little angel

23. Crazy Rich Asians

2018 was the year Asian and Asian-American representation on the big-screen solely thanks to the box-office smash "Crazy Rich Asians." Can you believe it is the first Hollywood movie to feature an all-Asian cast for 25 years, the last being Joy Luck Club in 1993? After generating $230 million worldwide, we're hoping Hollywood execs see the importance of equal representation throughout every medium. Unfortunately, the film was a flop in China were it was blasted for being "atrocious" and only raked in $1.5 million. You win some, you lose some.
